British Council undergoes transformation
Brightening up the British Council’s offices was a task awarded to W and Co, working in close co-ordination with Artillery Architects. The registered charity’s building entrance is located on the back wall of a dark under croft, which was hard to find for visitors.

W and Co have carried out a signage project for the British Council, including these custom illuminated poster cases
In order to increase their visibility, making the office more user-friendly for its visitors, W and Co were asked to design, manufacturer, and install large built-up and flat cut stainless steel logos next to the entrance doors.
This was alongside bespoke external LED illuminated poster cases and fret cut illuminated signage wrapped several concrete columns.
Posters are now on show in large bespoke poster display cases, complete with concealed LED accent lighting to give a ‘floating’ effect.
The glass front panels have been toughened for extra longevity, as well as hinged doors, and a hidden locking system.
The council are able to change the posters themselves to use as a clever marketing tool. It has been reported that the British Council are ‘extremely pleased’ with W and Co’s work.
