The EFI H1625 LED printer was installed at Cowen Signs in November 2015
Installed at the firm’s Birkenhead site in of November last year by CMYUK, the machine has been put to use on a whole host of projects, with the company utilising the training it received from EFI engineers and ongoing support.
James Clarke, digital design technician at Cowen Signs, explains that the firm opted to invest in the device after attending a CMYUK White Ink Workshop.
“While the workshop demonstrated some exciting opportunities and got us thinking about how to apply white in the correct method using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, we had never had white ink on our previous printers and were still unsure if we would actually use it very much once the EFI was installed,” Clarke says.
Our turnover is up, our job capacity and throughput have increased massively and we are still growing”
“We were so wrong! We now produce white ink prints every day, mainly for back lit displays and window graphics.
“The H1625 is mostly used to create wall graphics, large-format signs, canvas, backlit displays, textiles and banners and thanks to the production aspect of the printer, we can now move a lot of our screen printing over to the EFI.”
Clarke adds: “Our turnover is up, our job capacity and throughput have increased massively and we are still growing. Investing smartly in the right technology, through specialist partners such as CMYUK—put together with the skills and dedication of our growing team of 16 full time staff—are key to our success.”
