Tradeprint targets wide-format printers

Tradeprint.co.uk is encouraging wide-format print-service-providers (PSPs) to offer smaller format products to their clients

Tradeprint.co.uk are encouraging wide-format customers to broaden their porfolio through its services

The firm says that specialist printers could “really benefit” from diversifying and introducing a new product range such as flyers and business cards, to customers.

Managing director Rod Scrimgeour say that his firm already deals with sign-makers and some wide-format PSPs but is encouraging more to now “ask the question” about whether their clients require something additional.

“There is another income stream possible for sign-makers and wide-format firms; they already have the artwork, so why not sell other promotional products as well,” Scrimgeour told SignLink.

He continues: “Consider diversifying into smaller format work as you already have the customer base. If its a hassle free transaction through using us, then why not?

While commercial printers farming work out out to wide-format firms is common, the reverse is less so. Indeed, tradeprint.co.uk says it anticipates its growth to come from partnerships of this kind.

The firm is in the midst of a huge investment programme that will cost more than £8m in 2013. The investment programme includes adding a second high-volume Heidelberg Speedmaster litho press and an extension to its premises.

The firm has also invested in MIS software that allows buyers to control the job as it works its way through Tradeprint's press room.

Scrimgeour continues: “Our portal is an extension of our one click tracking system. Clients will be able to see at a glance all live jobs and action, such as changing delivery addresses, resupply artwork, and change any of their settings.”
