Roland DG demonstrates strength
Following the news that Roland DG has started shipping the newly-developed Eco-Sol Max2 white and metallic silver inks for use in the SolJet Pro4 XR-640, the company has announced a new market diversification strategy.

The ink technology is also set to be backed up by new software developments, as Kevin Shigenoya, Roland DG Global sales executive officer explains: “With Version 4.8, we have enhanced VersaWorks with new breakthrough colour management features.
“We are proud to offer our first built-in Pantone libraries, making spot-colour matching even easier and more accurate. As our own bundled RIP software, VersaWorks brings this innovative new capability—and many other advanced VersaWorks features—directly to our customers, free of charge, in an easy-to-use, fully integrated solution.”
The firms believes the new options will open up new projects for companies using the model, allowing them to take on applications such as window and vehicles graphics, large posters and labels.

“The XR-640 that we now start shipping with the new white and metallic silver inks has achieved excellent productivity, almost double that of predecessors in the same class,” explains Roland DG product manager, Yohei Sinomura.
Roland DG has also announced a new diversification strategy, which will see it exhibit at the upcoming Packaging Innovations exhibition being held at the NEC in Birmingham on February 27th and 28th.

Showcasing its LEC- printer/cutter as well as the ORIS Flex Pack/Web contract proofing solution, the wide-format digital printer manufacturer will be sharing a stand with packaging partners, ESKO, and CGS Publishing Technologies.
