Metamark: The next generation

With the vehicle branding market continuing to shift and expand, material company Metamark has brought out what it terms as ‘the next generation’ wrapping film.

MetaWrap MD-X from Metamark is being offered as the next generation of, and a real alternative to, current materials on the market

In a statement, the firm commented: “Design for vehicle markings has now evolved to the extent that fewer clients are happy to settle for simple, cut and applied lettering. More output is now printed, rather than cut, on panels of material, with subsequent application inevitably imposing the need to navigate complex panel surfaces.

“The materials typically used for wrapping today were originally developed, long before digital printing became popular, and for a different purpose.”

The film from Metamark has been released to offer an alternative to the materials typically called-upon by the wrapping market. MetaWrap MD-X is designed to stretch and conform easily, as well as handle ink and heat well, without distortion.

In technical terms, MD-X is a product of the most advanced manufacturing so far from Metamark

The statement continues: “Being an MD-Class film, MD-X is generously profiled, liberating more of the printer’s available gamut than materials requiring tighter ink limits. Heat softens the application handle in a very linear and predictable fashion, so speeding application over complex surfaces and allowing the applicator to approach such detail, confident that he’s not likely to damage the printed material.”

The firm predicts that its new product will find applications beyond vehicle wrapping, due to its extensible nature, representing a diversification opportunity for firms already involved in vehicle branding.

“In technical terms, MD-X is a product of the most advanced manufacturing so far from Metamark,” the statement concludes.
