By using 3M film, Couture Cases can demonstrate an almost limitless range of styling ideas from colour combinations to laser-printed images
Interior design business, Couture Cases, recently debuted its range of original furniture covers, which uses Controltac Graphic Film IJ180 and Controltac Graphic Film IJ380 from 3M.
According to the supplier, these materials are extremely conformable, premium cast films featuring a grey pigmented, pressure-activated adhesive for easy, positionable installation, and have a temperature range of minus 60 to plus 107 degrees Celsius, so they can withstand the heat from radiators once applied.
The company’s designer, Paul Johnson, says that 3M’s film allowed the Couture Cases to create an unusual concept with low start-up costs: “Applying an image or texture using conventional materials or spray-painting is slow, and can impose high business risks, production costs and selling prices.”
Stuart Weir of 3M’s commercial graphics division, says: “3M vinyl wraps allow designers to customise a tremendous variety of items without incurring the long lead times or high costs of conventional techniques and materials.”
