Material world: FESPA will be holding a new event about printing materials
Owners of wide-format printers are always on the look-out for new applications, so FESPA has latched on to this growth area as more sign-makers have shown an interest in the work. When designing and printing office signage and décor wide-format printers can also print the wall paper, the film for glass partitions, and decorative finishes to reception areas, walls, doors and corridors as well as soft furnishings.
The room concepts will be realised by printing industry suppliers and/or their customers, with the emphasis on creativity and innovation over technology or process”
The event will run alongside FESPA 2015 from May 18th to 22nd 2015 at Koelnmesse and the organisers say Printeriors will: “Offer visitors a visual and tactile experience by means of a physical showcase of printed interior applications, presented through a series of room sets to represent different commercial and domestic interior environments. The room concepts will be realised by printing industry suppliers and/or their customers, with the emphasis on creativity and innovation over technology or process.”
There will even be a one day conference at the venue on Thursday May 21st that will reveal the secrets of the art of printing interiors.
Roz McGuinness of Printeriors says: “Print is making substantial inroads in the realms of architectural design and interior décor, from walls, floor coverings, textiles and decorative surfaces to furniture and accessories. With Printeriors, we aim to illustrate print's creative potential to interior designers, architects, and other specifiers of interior décor. Printeriors will set out to inform, educate and inspire the design community, increasing awareness of print’s capabilities and stimulating demand for printed interior decoration.”
