Sign company alliance to sponsor veterans
Three signage manufacturers have formed an alliance that aims to support the re-training of the Armed Forces community

As well as supporting veterans, the scheme is designed to deliver business results
The coalition, created between Astley, Elite Graphics UK, and Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI), aims to provide veterans with valuable skills and experience in the manufacturing sector.
The RBLI has been in the road and rail signage industry for over 30 years. Their Lifeworks initiative is a fully funded, residential, employability course offered to veterans throughout the UK. Within the partnership, Astley and Elite Graphics UK pledge to sponsor a local veteran onto the RBLI’s Lifeworks course and provide them with paid work experience.
David Forrester, sales director of Astley, states: “This is an exciting opportunity for Astley to work in partnership with like minded businesses, whilst supporting the work of the RBLI.”

Lisa Godfrey owner of Elite Graphics UK is equally positive about the partnership, explaining: “We’re pleased to be able to provide additional products to our customers but above all we’re proud to provide sponsorship to the Armed Forces, especially for those who have given so much to our country.”
RBLI’s chief executive officer, and a former Brigadier, Steve Sherry, explains how the pledged training and funding will help the Armed Forces Community: “I have experienced the difficulties that all service personnel have to go through on leaving the Forces. This partnership is all about enabling greater numbers of our Armed Forces beneficiaries to get essential employment support and guidance.”
The scheme will be of particular benefit to those who have never worked in mainstream employment, with the experience and training on offer designed to create genuine job opportunities within local communities.
