The team’s efforts raised around £2,000
Staff from paper manufacturer Arjowiggins Graphic’s Basingstoke office have raised around £2,000 for charity after taking part in a special canoe challenge.
The effort saw the team canoe the length of the 20km length of the Rover Hamble in Hampshire. All money raised from the effort will send disadvantaged children to a summer camp—which are run through the Building Bridges scheme, part youth charity the YMCA Fairthorne Group.
Digital marketing manager, Will Green took part and told SignLink that some people in the group did not realise ‘how much of a challenge it really was’.
He adds: “I’d previously worked for the charity and we were made aware of how much of a difference a small amount of money could make. For every £130 we raised a child could go to summer camp. It could be a massive highlight for people who have really hard lives.”
