Large-format signage and print specialist Prismaflex has launched a new production system at its factory that it claims has reduced its carbon-footprint and improved environmental-sustainability.
Facilities at the 25,000sq ft site in Newhaven, East Sussex, can now produce 100 percent recyclable banners posters, made from 70 percent recycled materials. The 900gsm banners are made from Prismaflex’s Graph’It material, a one face polyethylene and one face polyether hybrid that can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste or incinerated to provide energy—all in line with European directives.
In addition, the banners now feature plastic eyelets rather than brass or chrome—meaning the entire installation can be recycled after use.
Managing director of Prismaflex UK, Tom Weaver, says it is ‘vital’ for the firm to use the latest technology to build on its green credentials so it can successfully market itself as an environmentally-responsible company.
The move from Prismaflex not only highlights its green credentials, but should see increased sales growth as more signage customers base buying decisions on environmental-sustainability.
