Eye-catching transparent signage could prove valuable in retail environments

What the company calls a “one-of-a-kind”, LG’s OLED Falls display was the first thing visitors to the trade show were welcomed by, made possible by 88 flexible open frame OLED displays. The signage features displays that curve up to 1,000R for wrapping around various surfaces.

“The next-generation signage technologies that we are exhibiting at this year’s ISE are without a doubt some of the most forward-thinking innovations in the industry today,” says Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Information Display business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company.

He adds: “The unique technology featured in LG’s OLED and LED signage products allows us to deliver ultimate solutions to customers in various industries.”

Designed for retail and gallery environments, the company also displayed its Transparent OLED signage where actual products can be seen behind the 38% transparent display, while video or images can be placed in front of the object.

The signage allows for the open frame design to be tiled, ideal for situations where customer interaction is vital.

The South-Korean company also showcased its Color Transparent LED film – a large-format solution that can be applied to any sized glass surface to create digital signage. The glass surface is unaffected by the film, which is unnoticeable when not in use.

The self-adhesive film has a maximum transparency of 73% and is capable of delivering a range of colours at 24mm pitch. The firm says the film is ideal for everything from brand logos to playing full-colour videos.
