Memjet and HP have revealed a global settlement has been reached in its patent infringement lawsuit

Memjet’s trademarked Waterfall technology holds approximately 3,500 patents worldwide, and the company believed that HP had infringed on the eight in question with its PageWide technology, launched officially in early 2015.

A global settlement has now been agreed upon, resulting in the dismissal of ‘all current actions between the parties and a cross license’. All details and terms of the settlement have been cited as confidential.

We will continue to stay focused on creating innovative printing technology that enables our customers to realize optimal speeds, quality and costs

Patents under dispute included ‘Inkjet printer with web feed maintenance assembly’, ‘Inkjet print head having rows of print head segments’, ‘Inkjet page width printer for high volume page width printing’, and ‘Inkjet fault tolerance using adjacent nozzles’.

Chief executive officer of Memjet Len Lauer says of the agreement: “We are pleased to have reached a settlement with HP. We will continue to stay focused on creating innovative printing technology that enables our customers to realize optimal speeds, quality and costs.”
