Based at a new site in Leicestershire, MTEX Technologies will focus on the company’s direct-to-textile customers in the UK and Irish markets, and will be headed up by managing director Stewart Bell.
“The sales of MTEX digital direct to textile printers have seen unprecedented numbers since FESPA London,” Bell explains.
“We successfully distributed the products through my company Digital Print Innovations, investing many months in research and development to navigate our way through the world of textiles and digital textile solutions to help our customers.
“However, we felt that the MTEX brand should have a bigger presence in the UK, so we set up MTEX Technologies to help drive sales and focus on supporting customers at a local level with UK based sales, spares, training and technical business support staff.”

The Technical Business Support division, which will be headed up by Rick Kwiecien, will feature a number of highly trained technicians in order to offer technical and business support.
The new UK training and demonstration centre is due to open in early summer, and will offer open days and training sessions to users of MTEX kit, as well as those keen to find out more about direct-to-textile print.
The formation of MTEX Technologies will also see Simeon Wicks join Bell’s Digital Print Innovations (DPI) company, while Paul Tomlinson has been appointed to head up sales.
We have the drive, knowledge and ambition to ensure that the UK can take its rightful place at the head of this emerging digital print market, and there’s never been a better time to get on board with our products that are tried, tested and leading in the market”
Bell explains: “The new structure allows me to remain in the DPI team but concentrate more on MTEX Technologies Ltd and driving new opportunities for growth in the digital textile printing sector—it’s very much a huge industry success story for 2014 and an early indicator of the shape of great things to come.”
Visitors to this year’s Sign and Digital UK event, which is currently taking place at Birmingham’s NEC, will have the chance to meet the MTEX Technologies team and view kit such as the MTEX 1800 and 5032.
Bell concludes: “We have the drive, knowledge and ambition to ensure that the UK can take its rightful place at the head of this emerging digital print market, and there’s never been a better time to get on board with our products that are tried, tested and leading in the market.”
