Bespoke signage specialist M4 UK has revealed it was behind some of the biggest projects in and around York over the last year, as the company experiences a sustained and rapid period of growth

York-based M4 UK has completed challenging commissions for the National Media Museum and Chesterfield College

“Business is definitely out there and we’re becoming widely known for the sheer quality of our work, which therefore allows us to gain repeat business and that’s essential in virtually any line of work,” enthuses Mark Little, who founded M4 UK in 2011.

He continues: “We never want to lose an existing client in the process of finding a new one. We have received many glowing testimonials in the last few years and that’s really rewarding, maybe that’s because we work to such a high specification.”

?One standout recent project saw a 15m-long sign created for the National Media Museum, seven stories up.

Each letter was double lined with high-brightness Sloan V series modules and painted satin white to aid light reflection, reportedly to help in producing a low power consumption unite at 450W.?

“It could only be reached via a cantilevered scaffold. We’ve done higher, but let’s just say, you’d only want to go up there once,” comments Little.?

With its biggest ever contract carried out for Walsall College, Little says it is embarking on a similarly large scale project for Chesterfield College where it has already installed a halo-LED sign for its new reception building.

Constructing two prototypes, green and white LEDs, the college opted for the latter, with project manager Stuart Williams explaining that each letter was individually wired, bundled, and painted to improve the durability and quality of the finished product.
