Phil Croughan, managing director of Paul Spencer Signs and Engraving, sates that top-notch health and safety is ‘vital’ to the company

Managing director of the company, Phil Croughan, explains what motivated him to apply for the accreditation: “As a contractor and an employer, we believe health and safety is vital, both at the workshop and on site. With Safecontractor, it demonstrates to our existing and potential clients that we take it seriously, and of course shows we are a professionally competent company.”

Under the Safecontractor scheme, businesses are tested on their health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies that meet the required standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users via a website.

John Kinge, technical director of Safecontractor says: “More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management. Paul Spencer Signs and Engraving has set an example that hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”
