The firm can now tackle a range of POS projects having installed a Kasemake K727A cutting table
Having started life as a home-based design agency 15 years ago, the firm moved into a full design, print and production service. One area UYR experienced significant interest in was point-of-sale (POS), with the firm designing, printing and creasing card with its Agfa Anapurna M4F large-format device.
The firm found itself limited to the POS material it could produce in house due to reduced cutting ability. Keen to take advantage of the demand for POS work, it opted to invest in a KM727A cutting table from AG/CAD to enhance its cutting options, as well as purchasing an Anapurna M2540FB. Both devices were delivered simultaneously so work could begin immediately.
Our design and print work for the retail sector is growing, so purchasing a CNC cutting machine in situ with a large project provided the perfect opportunity to instantly put the machine to work in a production environment”
“Our design and print work for the retail sector is growing, so purchasing a CNC cutting machine in situ with a large project provided the perfect opportunity to instantly put the machine to work in a production environment,” explains studio director, Dan Prescott.
He adds: “As opposed to taking jobs from the printers, and packing them off to an external supplier for cutting, we now have a production line. Our jobs are taken straight from the Agfa printers, put onto the Kasemake machine for cutting and are then ready for delivery to the customer. This cuts overall lead times, improves workflow and allows us to efficiently allocate our staff to production, as opposed to packaging and delivering to subcontractor.”
