With the news that Pureprint has acquired a majority stake in the Imprint Group in Newcastle-upon-Tyne it does seem that the line between the two industries is becoming increasingly blurred.

Litho and digital print firm Pureprint are clearly on the rise opening an office at Aztec West near Bristol, and seeing their turnover increase to £45m last year—more than doubling in just a few years—and rising to a workforce of over 250.
Imprint has also been growing as one of the largest manufacturers of point-of-sale graphics and general signage using the latest wide-format printing technology. Now they’ve been swallowed up by a print firm that clearly sees a future in the sign industry’s growth market.
With many commercial printers investing in wide-format kit and sign-makers using their digital printers to churn out stationery and basic literature for their clients it seems technology is bringing about a hybrid business. Hail the birth of the multi-format printer.
