It’s good to talk vehicle wrapping

Following the news that vehicle livery specialist Stewart Signs had completed a major vehicle wrapping project for UK telecommunications provider BT, the company has seen a bump in custom.

Stewart Signs selected 3M’s non-PVC Envision Print Wrap Film 480Cv3 with Envision Gloss Wrap Over-Laminate 8548G for the project. The firm completed the wrapping of BT’s 168 service vans.

BT worked with marketing agency AMV BBDO to develop the ‘Great Sport Happens Here’ campaign that features television, print and outdoor media. The BT Sport livery forms a major part of the campaign, allowing BT to have a 24-hours-a-day presence on UK roads.

Stewart Signs worked alongside AMV BBDO and the BT Fleet organisation in the printing and application of the vans wraps, which took place at three Stewart Signs outlets and various BT Fleet workshops.

The BT vehicle wrapping project was completed within a very tight time frame, with only a short period between completion of the graphics and application of the printed wraps

Geoff Wileman, senior buyer at BT Fleet, claims the 3M wrap was selected as it supoorted the company’s CSR policy and green approach to operations. The 3M film recently won the ‘Best Environmental Substrate’ at the 2013 European Digital Press Awards.

Gary Stanley, marketing manager at Stewart Signs, also says the flexibility of the films meant it was easier to apply—meaning vehicles were not out of action for long.

He explains: “The BT vehicle wrapping project was completed within a very tight time frame, with only a short period between completion of the graphics and application of the printed wraps.”
