Buchanan targets Traffex with software launches

Buchanan Computing has announced it is to launch three new software systems for traffic and highways at this year’s Traffex exhibition

The show, which will run alongside Parkex, is set to take place at Birmingham’s NEC from April 16th to 18th, addressing all areas of the traffic signage sector. Keen to take advantage of an opportunity to meet its target audience, Buchanan will use the exhibition as a platform to showcase its latest technology advancements to the market.

Upgraded traffic sign design system, SignPost 3, claims to build on the many features of previous versions of the software by incorporating faster ways of creating signs and more intelligence—without the need for CAD.

One key feature is all screen and inputs can now be recalled or edited in their original form if required. The firm says this new design wizard is capable of creating signs with complex arrangements of panels and patches, with all the correct symbols in compliance with regulation.

The firm will also showcase the features of its ParkMap 5.7 software, for making and managing on-street traffic orders and their associated signs.  One new feature is an instant link from traffic information to Google Streetview, allowing the user to see the exact project they will be faced with and enable them to plan such work properly.

The final new offering from Buchanan will be its touch and mobile-enhanced version of TraffWeb, the firm’s web-based mapping tool that provides detailed information on any aspect of the highway from anywhere.
