Sihl expands backlit film portfolio

Sihl Direct has launched three new backlit films in a move that will support the market sector, while widening the firm’s current selection.

Duracure 170 and 130, as well as Lightcure 145 DS, all claim to offer ‘perfect’ flatness and are compatible with UV printers, as well as solid ink, offset systems and laser printers.

The product is a combination of paper and film, with Sihl claiming there is a heavier emphasis on paper usage in order to reduce the effect on the environment.

The firm also says its multifunctional surface makes Duracure ‘ideal’ for a various printing techniques, while the rough paper structure helps distinguish the products from other backlit media.

Lightcure backlit film is a doubled-sided matt-coated polyester film designed for light boxes.

Sihl says a special coating process used in production allows for printing on both sides, which in turn produces results for both retracted and reflective light applications.
