As the clock struck midnight, screens in Glasgow, Newcastle, Southampton, Norwich, Leeds, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Derby, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London switched in unison for 24 hours.
Each screen displayed special celebratory artwork that was created in-house by Ocean Studio.
London’s world-famous Piccadilly Lights also carried a 10-second countdown to midnight, followed by a 30-second ‘Happy New Year’ montage.
In addition, 42 Ocean Outdoor screens in 22 cities across the Netherlands were lit up to wish their local community ‘Gelukigg Niewjaar’.
Ocean Outdoor’s chief marketing officer, Richard Malton, comments: “This is the first time we have switched our screens in unison across three countries to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
“With so many large events, such as Hogmanay in Scotland and London’s traditional fireworks display cancelled, it seemed appropriate to light up the skies and celebrate with the local communities where we live and work.”
