Metamark steps it up with Décormark
Time was that sign-making was all about fitting a company name to the front of a building in a variety of different formats, but today the sector has grown out of all recognition to include sectors that are fuelling growth for sign-makers across the UK.

Metamark is reporting a continued expansion in demand for its Décormark range from the sign-making industry
One of these is interior branding and decoration for retail and hospitality applications, and one materials supplier for this sector has reported a significant bump in demand for its products.
“Our Décormark range of printable digital media delivers to sign and graphics producers the means to produce customised décor materials that are as easy to handle and that print just like our company’s flagship MD5 material,” explains Paul French, chief executive officer of Metamark.
The Décormark range evidently shares its DNA with Metamark’s digital media, but comes in a range of very attractive finishes designed to offer a softer and more textured feel to the results produced. Once applied, the products are as inviting to touch as they are to look at—so Metamark has included in the range a creative and very durable laminating solution.
We designed its Décormark materials to address the need for high-quality digitally printed décor in retail and business environments”
French adds: “We designed its Décormark materials to address the need for high-quality digitally printed décor in retail and business environments. We clearly have a success on our hands and the uptake from the industry was both fast and enthusiastic on its launch. Despite the design intent though, Décormark has found a home in domestic environments where its hardwearing character make it ideal for the kind of battle-rash it’ll pick up in kids’ rooms for example.”
Decormark’s laminating solution is as imaginative as it is effective. Using a digitally printed base material that is part of the range, the print producer can select from a further range of Décormark textured clear products to protect the underlying decor graphics. French says the textures are taken from the same embossing production tools that are used to produce the range’s textured white materials.
The impact of digital print in a decorative context is proving very popular. Sign-makers are reporting a positive response to the products they offer using the Décormark range and are finding that there is an appetite for decorative surfaces in places where more traditional and fragile wall coverings would not endure.
