Andy Taylor, operations director, explains that it has been a hard time for himself and his young family, who witnessed their livelihood ruined.

He explains: “We have been pretty shocked and decimated by the recent events that befell GT Display. We have been very busy rebuilding the machinery and ancillary equipment that has been the hub of the business.”

There is obvious anger from Taylor, who revealed that the fire was deliberately started. However, Taylor has taken the time after the fire to reflect, and now plans to take GT Display even further than before.

“Whilst the actions of mindless thugs have cost some jobs in the short term, we are more determined now than at any time in the past three years to bring our company to the forefront of the display industry,” continues Taylor.

After weeks of seemingly negative events—events which deeply upset Taylor’s young children—the move towards a new GT Display has brought some welcome positivity. As well as the new initiative to grow, the firm has been given the opportunity to move to a new location.

Taylor finishes: “We have started the building of the business from nothing, and we have just had the go-ahead on a new premises.

“My four-year-old daughter was so affected by the interest locally and everyone around, that I had to try to turn the nightmare into a positive, so I asked her to officially open it [the new premises] with my two-year-old to try and dampen the horror they had seen.”
