The partnership between the four airports aims to target the affluent passengers passing through each week
Those looking to advertise at the airports in Munich, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Hamburg can now book premium advertising space across the airports “flexibly and on a weekly basis” through the joint network called AIRPORTconnect.
Effective immediately, advertisers can choose up to 28 premium full-HD 16:9 screens across the network, with 12 of these screens located at Munich Airport. The network, the airports say, has the potential to reach more than 2.5m affluent passengers a week.
Luggage brand Samsonsite has already booked the advertising model for four weeks beginning on May 13th.
“With AIRPORTconnect, we’ve joined forces with strong partners to launch a ground-breaking concept for the marketing of digital advertising displays at airports throughout Germany,” says Cornelia Rossmann, head of advertising and media at Munich Airport.

All of the screens at Munich Airport are located after the security screening checkpoints in the terminals, Düsseldorf Airport has four large-format screens both in the terminal and at the gate, Hamburg Airport has eight screens positioned before and after security screening, whilst Stuttgart Airport has four high-tech screens in the public area of Terminal 1.
Munich Airport says that the areas of high footfall, long dwell times and a high percentage of business travellers and decision-makers passing through makes the location a valuable target for advertisers.
