The merger, which came into effect on September 7th, will also include online upload and print portal Where The Trade Buys and digital solutions provider Climb.

The companies have worked together for a number of years and the merger will formalise this arrangement.

Precision and ProCo will operate as Precision Proco, while Prime will retain its name with a new brand identity

Gary Peeling of Precision Printing will serve as group chief executive, while Jon Bailey, formerly of ProCo, will take on the role of chief operating officer.

Jon Tolley from Prime will become group chief information officer, and Dominic Neary will take the position of group chief financial officer, having joined from Just Eat.

Our customers in the main are established brands which are looking to expand their market share though innovation, or businesses re launching or developing an e-commerce brand

Philip Osmond, formerly a director at British Airways, will also join the board as chairman and merger advisor.

“Our customers in the main are established brands which are looking to expand their market share though innovation, or businesses re launching or developing an e-commerce brand,” said Peeling says.

“This is particularly relevant in the current climate and we believe that what we can offer through this merger are unparalleled solutions for customers to do this.”

The combined business says that its production capabilities will be among the strongest in the country, with its line-up boasting some 15 digital presses, four litho presses, high speed inkjet, large-format print, laser cutting and specialist finishing lines.
